Bring the savannah into your home with these rustic yet stylish storage baskets. Use them to display fruit or sweets on your kitchen table, hang them up as a beautiful and unusual wall decoration, or store treasured knick-knacks or children’s toys in them.
Made from sustainable Lunditzi grass, these highly versatile baskets are unique, beautiful and hard-wearing. They’re made by Gone Rural, a fair trade company that empowers women in Eswatini’s most remote areas.
All Lunditzi grass products are water resistant and stain-resistant. They make fabulous gifts for your loved ones or some nice treats for yourself.
Ethical and beautiful storage solutions for your home
Each basket in our collection has been crafted by women basket weavers in the mountain kingdom of Eswatini, so you can be sure of their exceptional quality. And as they’re handmade, no two baskets will be exactly the same.

User Guidance
To enjoy your basket for many years to come, please ensure you:
Wipe them with a slightly damp cloth to clean them.
Don’t machine wash (this would ruin your basket’s shape).
Don’t leave in direct sunlight (this preserves the beautiful colours for longer).
How the baskets are made
Lunditzi grass is harvested sustainably every year from the Eswatini mountains. The long grass is then dyed in a variety of non-toxic colours and expertly woven, using traditional Swazi plaiting techniques.
Karakorum introduces you to artisans of the world and the beautiful stories behind their products. This ethical home decor brand is a joyous celebration of traditional crafts, small business and fair trade practices.
Karakorum is named after the former capital of the Moghul Empire, one of the most important cities on the Silk Road, despite its small size. Likewise, the brand is a small-but-mighty route for trade from around the world.
A scroll through the Karakorum collection is like looking into the shop window of global artisans. Find candles crafted in Eswatini alongside Indian throws, Moroccan lanterns and Guatemalan sugar skull mugs.
All Karakorum products have a special story and significance. Even more importantly, everything in the range is ethically made and sourced. That means the makers get a fair wage, there’s no exploitation in the supply chain, women are treated equally and the local community benefits from Karakorum’s trade.
Whether you’re after a memorable, meaningful gift or a piece you can show off in your own home with pride – the Karakorum collection is the place to find it.
