Sapling Spirits
At Sapling two things are essential to their ethos – high quality spirits and love for the natural world. In most people's minds, these two things might be mutually exclusive.
Is saving the world not something that requires a bit more effort? Walking, instead of driving? Sorting out your recycling properly? Of course we all should do these things, but Sapling believe we can protect the planet while kicking back with friends, and doing the things we love.
That's why with every bottle of Sapling, the team plant a tree. A unique code on each bottle tells you what type of tree was planted, where, and a little about the planting project.
A recent study found that an average bottle of vodka uses 2.8kg of carbon before it reaches its customer. One of their trees can absorb up to 1.5 tonnes of carbon in its lifetime, making each of Sapling's bottles significantly carbon positive.
Made in the heart of London, Sapling use local ingredients to reduce transport emissions too. It is four times distilled from 100% British wheat with charcoal filtered, de-ionised water. The high starch content of the wheat leaves the fresh finish and a hint of natural sweetness that makes Sapling so easy to drink.
School friends Ed and Ivo were working on UK-wide tree-planting projects when they realised they needed more cash and volunteers to be able to make a bigger impact.
To incentivise people to get involved, they decided to make a bar in a clearing. Before long, a party turned into a festival. The duo realised they were onto something.
It was with this spirit of celebration and cyclical product that Sapling Spirits came to life.
