Paguro
Paguro Upcycle is a trailblazing brand crafting contemporary accessories and homeware from materials most would discard — inner tubes, bike chains, reclaimed wood, army tents, electrical wire and seat belts — elevating waste into statement pieces. At the heart of their business is a mission: to merge refined design with eco-conscious practices, supporting artisan communities and reducing landfill burden.
Working with small-scale artisans and social enterprises across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the UK, Paguro ensures every product is made ethically, under fair-labour conditions, and with zero-waste principles at its core. The brand’s eco-conscious collections are PETA-approved vegan and entirely cruelty-free. Each piece showcases the skill of its maker — from hand-cut jewellery and waterproof inner-tube bags to statement homeware crafted from upcycled wood — blending meticulous craftsmanship with radical reuse.
Paguro channels a portion of its sales to social causes including Plastic Oceans, Transforming Lives for Good and CARE International UK. Recognition has followed: the brand was shortlisted as Disruptor of the Year at the Midlands Great British Entrepreneur Awards and more recently nominated for Circular Economy Excellence at the 2025 Midlands Sustainability Excellence Awards. From materials once destined for landfill, Paguro creates products built to last — beautiful, ethical and distinctly planet-friendly.
Paguro Upcycle was founded by Yen Wei Goo, a former chartered accountant who turned a personal passion for sustainability into a purpose-driven business. While travelling in Asia, she encountered artisans transforming discarded rubber and plastics into striking accessories — a moment that inspired her to bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern ethical design. Now based in Nottingham, Yen Wei leads Paguro with a commitment to fair trade, circular design and community empowerment. Her meticulous eye for detail and belief that fashion should never cost the earth continue to shape Paguro’s journey from waste to wearable art.
