Maraba Coffee Liqueur
Bring the taste of your morning espresso to evening drinks with Maraba Coffee Liqueur. The skills and expertise of Gorilla Spirits Co, Moon Roast Coffee and coffee producers in Rwanda have come together to create this cold brew coffee liqueur.
The smooth, rich drink is named after the renowned coffee-growing region of Maraba. That’s where the beans in the specialty coffee used in the liqueur come from, sourced from individual farmers by Moon Roast Coffee and roasted at their craft roastery in Hampshire.
A few miles down the road, the Maraba Coffee Liqueur team cold brew the beans with alcohol in small batches. They extract all the delicious layers of flavour, before turning it into their velvety liqueur.
There’s more to Maraba Coffee Liqueur than incredible ingredients and impressive distilling skills, though. The brand supports women in the Maraba region by donating 10% of profits to the Kula Project, which helps female entrepreneurs flourish and eradicates poverty in the process.
Through 15-month business fellowships, the Kula Project provides industry training, business investment, life and leadership skills. The women who take part go on to build successful businesses, raise healthy families and send their children to school. Every bottle of Maraba Coffee Liqueur supports their journey.
Both the original Maraba Coffee Liqueur and the Salted Hazelnut edition are perfect for jazzing up cocktails, with a caffeine kick and dash of positive impact. Order a bottle and you’ll be mastering your espresso martinis in no time.
Gorilla Spirits and Maraba Coffee Liqueur founder Andy Daniel’s love of food and drink goes all the way back to his childhood, when he’d spend time with his mum as she baked. When it came to the end of his corporate career, Andy decided it was the right time to indulge this passion and start a business in the industry.
Inspired by the craft distiller movement in the US, which was beginning to take off here in the UK too, he started developing Gorilla Spirits in 2011. He spent four years perfecting the Silverback Mountain Strength Gin before officially launching in 2015. The range has kept expanding, with Maraba Coffee Liqueur hitting shelves three years later.
It’s always been Andy’s desire to show that creating the highest quality spirits and running a business with social responsibility at its heart can go hand in hand. Maraba Coffee Liqueur is the perfect example of this in action.
