The brand was founded on the idea that everyone deserves good food and that we should all share whatever we have. In keeping with that ethos, whenever you buy one of The Ja Joint’s Jamaican spice kits, another is donated to someone in need. These are distributed around Northamptonshire by organisations on the frontline of fighting food poverty.
Every kit contains enough natural, gluten-free and vegan spices and recipes to create eight individual meals. They give you and people experiencing food poverty an easy way to cook flavourful, Jamaican-inspired dishes on a budget.

Carly Day embraced the Aussie love for cooking and sharing food during her 15 years of living there. She first started experimenting with spice blends in her kitchen when she was missing her family in the UK and wanting to reconnect with her Jamaican roots.
When she got The Ja Joint brand off the ground, it was soon certified by the Jamaican Consulate of Australasia for its top-notch representation of Jamaican food.
But Carly wanted to offer more than just great flavours through her spice kits. She has always championed the idea that delicious, healthy food doesn’t have to be expensive. So teaching others to cook resourcefully on a budget became an essential part of The Ja Joint.
